High school students in pursuit of higher education must submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered by the university. Preparation for the college admissions tests begins with the Practice SAT. Typically, the PSAT is offered by the high school. If it is not, we recommend that a student take the PSAT during his/her sophomore year to become familiar with (a) the SAT format, (b) test-taking conditions, and (c) his/her strengths and weaknesses. Taking the PSAT earlier, rather than later, will also help us in creating a program and timeline for your child’s SAT studies. PSAT scores are not seen by colleges.
The SAT and ACT are administered several times annually, beginning in the Fall, and most students take the exam during the Spring of their junior year or Fall of their senior year. It is prudent to begin preparing for the SAT and/or ACT as early as possible; achieving a competitive score takes time and dedication. Our students who scored a perfect or near-perfect score on the SAT or ACT in 2016 did so after hours of diligent study with their Juku mentors who learned the students’ strengths and weaknesses and taught them the substance and skills needed for consistent, excellent performance.

Non-native students wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities may also be required to submit a TOEFL score, which is a computer-based or paper-based test that evaluates a student’s reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, and–depending on the type of test–speaking skills.
