Each one of us at Juku is firmly committed to helping students realize their greatest potential through individualized and humanistic education. Because every child is unique, one method of teaching is not effective for all students or even most. We are a progressive team, dedicated to using a creative and innovative approach to teaching students not only the critical skills and disciplines needed to succeed in an ever-changing world, but a passion for learning that will endure through life.
One great mentor can make all the difference in a child’s life. Many in society sacrifice dreams because of the belief that those dreams are unrealistic or unattainable. This way of thinking is not the way of our educational community. Juku students are taught to recognize and have absolute conviction in their hidden capabilities. Time and again, our students have set concrete goals that others deemed “impossible” and achieved them together with the support of their family and Juku mentors.
Our Team. We have over 30 teachers and another 10 teachers who return from the mainland during the academic breaks. Our teachers represent a vast spectrum of specialties, experience, and backgrounds and proudly hail from schools all over the country including (in alpha order) Barnard College, Columbia University, Cornell University, Seattle University, Soka University, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC Los Angeles, UH at Manoa, University of Pennsylvania, and more. Our teachers also include graduates of Punahou School, Iolani School, Hanahauoli School, Mid-Pacific Institute, Sacred Hearts Academy, and Kamehameha Schools.
